Dex Sound Sleeper SS-01 Review
Take our advice; when you buy a sound machine, as a gift, or for yourself, spend the few extra dollars! It makes a difference. The Dex 22-01 is inexpensive, but mostly it’s cheap! It looks like a design from 1977. The buttons have a mushy feel to them and there is no white noise selection. It has summer night, rain, brook, ocean, womb and wind. It has a feature to add sounds to the aforementioned. You can add a seagull, bird, buoy or thunder. The box arrived to use completely destroyed. This indicates that somewhere in the world is a pile of these that have been returned and are waiting to be re-sold and returned again. The volume is very weak too – even at max volume level it is hard for our team to hear in a small sized bedroom.
The model number (SS-01) is intriguing in that is starts off the same as a Homedics Sound Machine. We have heard rumors that this used to be a Homedics product but the rights were sold to Dex. Homedics then came out with the SS-200 (no longer available) and now hosts a bucket full of sound machines.
