I have been using one of these for a couple of years. I recently broke it when I knocked it off a table on to a CARPETED surface, which gives you an idea of how durable it is (not). I had already broken the little stand piece that is attached to the bottom of the unit. So if you buy this thing, don’t count on being able to use it for very long unless you are consistently careful with it.

I always found the unit awkward to use, because the buttons that change the sound option (e.g., from waves to white noise) do not click but must be pressed very hard — in fact, it requires two hands to do this, one to hold the machine and the other to press the button.

On the positive side, the sound quality is acceptable, and it is very convenient to have the choice of timings (or continuous sound) and of sounds.
